Dr. Galip Gürel

With degrees from the University of Istanbul (School of Dentistry), the University of
Kentucky (Department of Prosthodontics) and the Yeditepe University in Istanbul
(Department of Prosthodontics), Dr. Gurel has an extensive and celebrated list of scholastic
achievements in his field, beginning with the fact that he is the founder and the honorary
president of EDAD (Turkish Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry).

Prof. Nitzan Bichacho

Nitzan Bichacho, D.M.D. graduated in 1984 from the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Hebrew
University – Hadassah School of Dental Medicine, Jerusalem, Israel. He teaches at the
Departments of Oral Rehabilitation of both dental faculties at the Hebrew University in
Jerusalem and at Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv, Israel.

Prof. Dimitar Filtchev

Prof. Dimitar Filtchev is a specialist in Prosthetic Dentistry and in Polyvalent Dentistry.
He is a senior assistant at the Prosthetic Dentistry Department. Since 2013 he has been an
associate member of the European Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry, co-founder of the Style
World group for aesthetic dentistry.

MDT Vincent Fehmer

MDT Vincent Fehmer received his dental lab technology training and degree in Stuttgart, Germany in 2002. From 2002 to 2003, he was a trainee in oral design labs in Great Britain and the US. From 2003 to 2009 he worked in an oral design lab (Die Dentalmanufaktur Mehrhof) in Berlin, Germany. In 2009 he was awarded his MDT degree in Germany. From 2009 to 2014 he was the chief dental technician at the Clinic for Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics and Dental Materials Science in Zurich, Switzerland. Since 2015 he has been working as a dental technician at the Clinic for Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials, Centre of Dental Medicine of the University of Geneva, Switzerland (head: Prof. Dr Irena Sailer). He runs his own dental laboratory in Lausanne, Switzerland.

This module will focus on:

  • Surgical and restorative approaches, explained through clinical cases
  • A comprehensive understanding of the present limitations and the various options available today to maximize the successful results of implants-based restorations especially at the smile zone.

09:00–11.00 The role of the provisional crown in shaping the transition profile (emergence profile) and stable red aesthetics. Immediate implantation and immediate restoration in the aesthetic area. Socket seal and socket shield technique – Prof. Dimitar Filtchev

11.00-12.00 Hands-on – implantation in the aesthetic area and preparation of a provisional crown in the aesthetic area on a phantom head model – Prof. Dimitar Filtchev

12.00-13.00 Live Demo immediate implant placement with immediate loading in the esthetic zone

14.00-17.00 Stages of work in a dental laboratory. Superstructure design – manual and digital. Modern concepts for digitalization of the practice – Dental Technician Vincent Fehmer

17.00-18.00 Lecture with Dr. Chakalov

Day 3 – 22nd of April 2023

09.00-10.30 Modern digital solutions in prosthetics on implants – digital impression and clinical and laboratory stages. Types of superstructures, indications for application, selection of superstructure according to the type of prosthetic structure. Stages of work and completion of the final structure. Fixing the implant prostheses to the abutments. Prof. Dimitar Filtchev

10.30-11.30 Live demo – prosthetic steps – from scanning to final restoration

11:30–13:00 Hands-on – scan of an implant. and stages of digital prosthetics

13.00-14.00 Lunch

2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Exposure of implants – types of techniques and indications – Dr. E. Ruseva
