Dr. Maurice Salama
Dr. Salama received his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental
Medicine, where he later received his dual specialty certification in Orthodontics and
Periodontics, as well as his implant training at the Branemark Center at Penn.
Dr. Salama is currently on the faculty of the Medical College of Georgia as Clinical Assistant
Professor of Periodontics.
This module will focus on:
- Minimally Invasive Bone, Tissue and Sinus Augmentation techniques
- New strategies for complete ridge preservation- extraction and tooth replacement once considered the gold standard are now being challenged by “partial extraction”
- The 3-dimensional reconstruction of the implant receptor site comprises three distinct phases:
1. Development of the hard tissues
2. Reconstruction of the soft tissue
3. Shaping of the tissues through the restorative profile
This module will also cover:
- The importance of CBCT 3D Planning in Reconstructive Dentistry
- New minimally invasive site preparation techniques utilizing new bioengineering protocols will also be highlighted as vital treatment planning options in everyday clinical practice.
The main focus of the module is:
- Insights in a novel digital workflow for immediate implant placement
- Immediate loading of full-arch rehabilitation, which aims to improve the accuracy of implant placement surgery and simplify the procedure of delivering immediate provisional restorations.
